Blood swept lands and seas of red boxed silk scarf

This pure silk scarf was designed by IWM as part of the official Ceramic Poppies 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' range. Featuring a close up image of the poppies when on display at the Tower of London in 2014.

The installation 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper, was a collaboration between Historic Royal Palaces and Paul Cummins and staged at HM Tower of London in 2014 to mark the beginning of the Centenary of the First World War. In total 888,246 ceramic poppies filled the Tower's famous moat attracting over 5 million visitors, each poppy representing a British or Colonial life lost at the front during the war. Two sculptures 'Wave' and 'Weeping Window' have since toured the UK and will end at IWM North and IWM London in 2018, where they will formally become part oft he Imperial War Museums' collection.
