Victoria Cross full size replica medal

The Victoria Cross (VC) was created on the 29th January 1856. It recognises acts of extreme bravery carried out under direct enemy fire and has been awarded to over 1300 people since its creation. The VC was named after Queen Victoria, who personally chose the inscription ‘For Valour’, the design shows a lion guarding the Royal Crown. Original VC’s are hand-made, traditionally using bronze from a gun captured during the Crimean War – the VC is deliberately intended to have little actual value – its value lies in what it stands for and what people do to earn it.

A large collections of VC’s are on show in the Lord Ashcroft Gallery in IWM London.

This is a full size replica medal of the Victoria Cross.
