Love to Learn - Family History
Have you ever wanted to uncover lost family secrets? What about finding out if all of those family stories you heard growing up are true? You can do that, and more, from the comfort of your home by taking the interactive Family History course offered by Pearson Love to Learn.
Your online tutor will teach you how to use the electronic databases available over the Internet so that you can start building your family tree. First, you will learn how to access census records and evaluate them to learn more about the world in which your ancestors lived. You will then learn how to search for birth records, legal documents and newspaper articles to add even more information to your tree about your ancestors. Expert advice is also on hand from the Imperial War Museum, with steps on how to trace ancestors who served in the First World War, including detailed information on how to interpret military medals, war diaries and photographs, so that you can learn more than just the names of your ancestors and start to record their story.
Each unit of the course includes interactive activities and a personal workbook for you to record your notes and use as a guide in your future research. When you have completed the course you may have traced your family back several generations or even hundreds of years. The opportunities are endless when you have mastered the tools taught on this course. What will you discover about your family?
It's available to buy here or you can try part of it for free on the Love to Learn website. Once you have purchased your Online Learning course you will be contacted by email with your course product activation key, see our FAQs for more information.
